TRUSSVILLE — Trussville City Schools will continue to require masks in schools after the state mandate expires
In a statement to The Tribune, TCS said all precautions will continue through the end of the school year.
“We have had a successful school year with our COVID-19 precautions in place, and we plan to continue those precautions,” said TCS Public Relations Supervisor Jason Gaston. “This specifically includes wearing face masks, distancing, and sanitizing for the next 8 weeks.”
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey previously announced that the state’s mask order will remain in place until April 8, 2021, then will expire. Ivey has said she prefers “personal responsibility” to government mandates and the state is headed in the right direction, yet “we still have some work to be done,” spokeswoman Gina Maiola said.
