BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Saturday night in Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 33-year-old Lateshia Hattie Danner, of Fairfield. Authorities say she sustained a gunshot wound injury during a reported assault in the 7600 block of 1st Avenue North in Birmingham.
The incident took place on Saturday night at approximately 8:19 p.m. Danner was transported to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 9:46 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.
This case is being investigated as a homicide.
