FORESTDALE — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that happened in Forestdale on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020.
The crash happened at 10:02 p.m. on Highway 78, near the intersection of Grandview Drive. Deputies said a vehicle traveling south was struck by another vehicle.
The driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene on foot before deputies arrived on the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The Sheriff’s traffic accident reconstruction team is investigating the wreck.
