SPRINGVILLE — The Springville softball program celebrated three scholarship signees on Monday.
Seniors Tatum Bartlett and Karli Davidson both plan on playing their college ball at Wallace Community College in Dothan while Reagan Cornelius will continue her career at Snead State. The trio will cap off its prep career this spring, as the Tigers work their first season of Class 6A competition.

Head coach Brandon Easterwood says his senior class is anxious to get back on the field after last season was cut short due to COVID-19.
“Last year was going to be a big opportunity for them to step up and be a big part of what we’ve done, but these girls have been around before that point and they’ve worked really hard and they’re great teammates,” said Easterwood. “I know that the girls in our program respect them and they look forward to what they’re going to do this season.”
Bartlett, Davidson and Cornelius were seventh-graders when Easterwood began coaching softball at Springville. For Easterwood, that season ‘seems like yesterday.’
With college talent peppered through the lineup and a strong class of senior leaders, this year’s roster has big expectations. And it all starts with offseason commitment.
“They’ve worked so hard in the weight room,” said Easterwood. “I’ve seen tremendous gains in the weight room; more so this year than ever before and then on top of that, we’re starting to do some team building.”
“They played a lot in the offseason on the travel ball circuit so they’re ready to play, it’s just a matter of putting our season together now,” he continued.
