LEEDS — The Alabama Department of Transportation is working to fix the interstate after a construction accident on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020.
Leeds Mayor David Miller said a milling machine cut through the base of the roadway and will have to be rebuilt. The accident happened on Interstate 20 between exits 140 and 144. Miller said he estimates the roadway will be reopened before Friday morning rush hour.
