BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office released the identity of a man who died after a reported domestic assault at his home.
Fred R. Sims, 68, of Birmingham, was taken to UAB Hospital on Monday, Nov. 9, after the assault in the 10 block of Reverend Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd, in Birmingham. Sims succumbed to his injuries and died on Wednesday, Nov. 11, according to Coroner Bill Yates.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the death as a homicide.
