PINSON — During the Pinson City Council meeting on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, city leaders decided to move business from Wells Fargo to Hometown Bank.
Although Wells Fargo is next door to City Hall, the City Clerk reported having issues making deposits, according to Councilor Robbie Roberts.
“We’re wanting to move those accounts because the Wells Fargo branch (in Pinson) stays closed so much the clerk can’t get in and out of there and be able to do business,” Roberts said. “We need a bank that’s actually open and doing business here in Pinson.”
The council unanimously passed a motion to move four existing tax accounts from Wells Fargo to Hometown Bank. The move came just three days after the council passed a resolution to continue using the same banks for city business.
