BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident that took place on Halloween night on Interstate 59/20 in Birmingham.
The decedent was the driver and lone occupant of a red Ford Ranger pickup truck traveling north, approaching the Elton B. Stephens Expressway interchange. According to BPD, the decedent’s vehicle collided with another, struck a concrete guardrail, flipped over the side and fell to the ground below the interstate.
The accident was reported at 7:14 p.m. on Saturday at mile marker 126. Authorities have not identified the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators continue looking at the cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck.
