FAIRFIELD — Police are investigating a shooting that took place in Fairfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 6500 block of Aaron Aronov Drive in Fairfield at 1:39 p.m. Sunday. Officers quickly located the victim, who had been shot in the arm.
The man was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He told deputies that while he was standing in the parking lot, an unknown gunman approached him and asked him what he was doing there and then shot him in the arm.
He then escaped and called 911.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the shooting.
