TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is investigating after thefts from two vehicles parked at a business in the 4700 block of Norrell Drive.
The incidents happened between 3:45 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020.
The vehicle owners told police they had their purses in the front seats of their cars but their doors were locked.
A 2016 Ford Fusion was parked with the windows cracked in order to let heat out. The purse in the front seat was not taken, but $79 in cash was stolen from a wallet inside the purse.
A 2014 Chevrolet Camaro that was parked nearby was also taken from. The owner left the sunroof open and believes someone was able to gain entry to the vehicle from the sunroof. Ten dollars in cash and a prepaid credit card with no money on it was taken from the vehicle.
Trussville Police urge drivers to hide all valuables in vehicles. If you are unable to take items with you, police say you can lock them in your trunk and cover them.
