BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified two men killed in a Sept. 6 car accident in Birmingham.
Henry Carlos Merida Cano, 18, and Juan Carlos Cifuentes, 20, were both passengers of a Toyota Tacoma traveling east in the 1400 block of Third Avenue West on Sunday evening, when the truck collided into the rear of a Cadillac sedan. The impact caused the truck to flip multiple times before coming to a rest on the side of the roadway.
Both victims were ejected following impact, and both were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department.
