JEFFERSON COUNTY — Detectives from The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a woman was shot while driving early Sunday morning.
On Sunday September 6, 2020 at 2:30 a.m., deputies received a call of shots fired in the 400 block of 7th Street in the Docena community, according to a statement from Chief Deputy David Agee.
“Deputies arrived at that location and found a 20-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound,” Agee said. “Deputies provided medical assistance until paramedics arrived. The woman said that while she was driving, someone shot at her from another vehicle.”
The woman was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Sheriff’s detectives are investigating this shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.
