BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham police are conducting a homicide investigation following a Monday afternoon shooting that took place at 308 Gamma Street.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, officers from the South Precinct responded to UAB Hospital on Monday, Aug. 17 after the department was notified of the arrival of a wounded gunshot victim.
Mario Joe Kindred, 32, of Birmingham, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities discovered the incident took place at 308 Gamma Street in Birmingham.
The preliminary investigation suggest multiple gunshots were heard and a female driving a small silver sedan fled the scene. There were also reports of a physical altercation prior to the shooting. Police believe the shooting was domestic in nature.
Detectives were later notified by UAB Hospital staff that Kindred succumb to his injuries.
The female shooter eventually turned herself in at the Birmingham
Police Administration Building. Her information will be withheld pending formal charges.
