JEFFERSON COUNTY — Authorities in Jefferson County say a man is in custody at a hospital after being shot by a deputy during an apparent home invasion.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 600 block of Elm Street S.W. on the morning of Thursday, July 23. According to reports, the suspect forced his way into the home and attacked a female victim, who was able to call 911.
A responding deputy shot the suspect after arriving to the scene. Both the victim and the suspect have been hospitalized, according to reports. Their conditions have not been released.
