ASHVILLE — Several agencies located the body of a missing man in St. Clair County, on Friday, May 29, 2020.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Muscadine Drive, in Ashville, around 7:15 a.m., after a 92-year-old man was reported missing. The man was a Project Lifesaver patient with the sheriff’s office, so the sheriff’s office immediately began a search with the assistance of other area agencies.
The man’s body was located around 9:10 a.m. The sheriff’s office thanked Ashville Police Department, Northeast Fire Department, Rainbow City Fire Department and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency for assisting.
“The Sheriff’s Office expresses our sincere condolences to his family, friends and neighbors in this difficult time,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
