SPRINGVILLE — Residents of one subdivision in Springville are hoping a ray of hope they are shining throughout their neighborhood will inspire others during the coronavirus outbreak.
People living in Macdonald Farm, off Highway 11, have placed wooden crosses in their yards. Amanda Flynn said she was able to donate some of the wood, and a boy in the neighborhood, Cade Clark, has been making them. Flynn said it wasn’t long before word got around.
“It has kind of snowballed,” Flynn said. “People all the way in Vestavia have seen them and are asking for them.”
The crosses are free, as long as Flynn has the wood to make them. So far, there are about 40 in Macdonald Farm.
“Everybody has been putting them in their yard and has been decorating them however they want to,” said Flynn. “With everything going on right now this shows a little bit of inspiration and show that God is still with us.”
Flynn said anyone is welcome to drive by and see the crosses.
