Over the last week, both the Pinson City Council and the Clay City Council announced the name of their city’s grand marshal for the 2019 Christmas parades.
On Thursday, Nov. 7, Pinson councilor Joy McCain made a motion to nominate PVHS teacher Raisa Eady to be grand marshal for Pinson’s Christmas parade. The motion passed unanimously.
Eady recently won the Milken Educator Award, also known as the “Oscars of Teaching.”
At the Clay City Council meeting on Nov. 12, Clay city manager Ronnie Dixon said that CCMS Principal Jason Wilson will be grand marshal for the Clay Christmas parade.
The Pinson Christmas parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. The theme will be Alabama Bicentennial.
The Clay Christmas parade will be on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 3:30 p.m. The theme will be Frozen.
