CENTER POINT — After a dominant showing against No. 1 seed Etowah this past Friday, Center Point returns to the second round of the AHSAA state playoffs for the second consecutive season, which just so happens to coincide with length of head coach George Bate’s tenure with the Eagles.
The Eagles will enter foreign territory this week as they return to Center Point to play just their fifth home game of the season. It will be their first home game since Oct. 4.
Awaiting the Eagles will be No. 2 seed Scottsboro. The 9-2 Wildcats squeaked past Russellville, 17-14, in the first round.
Center Point and Scottsboro have never met.
