JACKSON COUNTY — A Stevenson man was arrested on Monday after he allegedly punched a referee at a Jackson County high school football game this past Friday.
Johnny Ladell Gilliam, 38, was charged with third-degree assault for the attack at Friday night’s football game between North Jackson and Arab, news outlets have reported.
Gilliam surrendered to authorities on Monday.
No further information has been released as to the reasoning behind the assault.
Arab defeated North Jackson, 56-26.
