PINSON VALLEY — Pinson Valley begins its defense of its two consecutive Class 6A titles this Friday as the Indians host Homewood in the first round of the AHSAA Class 6A playoffs.
The Indians have won four straight games following a Sept. 20 loss to Oxford. In that span, Pinson Valley has relied on an impenetrable defense that has allowed just one touchdown. Since Oct. 4, the Indians have outscored their opponents 154-12.
Up next is a Homewood team that has experienced more lows than highs this season. The Patriots enter the game just 4-6 in Class 6A, Region 5 play. Homewood is coming off of a 28-31 loss to Paul Bryant to close out the regular season. That loss snapped a three-game winning streak, which proceeded a three-game losing streak.
Homewood opened the season 1-5 before rebounding in region play.
