CENTER POINT — The 2019 high school football postseason is nigh upon us. As the regular season drew to a close this past Friday, the teams that earned a playoff birth learned their official fates over the weekend.
For Class 5A Center Point, the Eagles, who were already aware of their first round opponent, officially learned from the AHSAA that they will travel to face one-loss Etowah on Nov. 8. The matchup will be a rematch of the 2018 second round playoff game in which Center Point lost, 14-28.
Etowah enters the contest winners of three consecutive games. The Blue Devils’ lone loss came against Pell City on Oct. 4.
