PINSON — The Center Point Fire District took an extra step after a house fire Saturday, to save a family dog.
Everyone in the house on McDuffie Road got out safely. The dog, Scout, was taken from the home and given oxygen by firefighters.
Emergency Pet Care, in Trussville, responded to the scene and took the dog for additional oxygen therapy. He will be returned to his family after treatment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
