BIRMINGHAM — A man was taken into custody Wednesday evening after he allegedly fired on Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies this past Sunday at the Valley Brook apartment complex in eastern Birmingham.
Larence Ladel Quinn, 30, is charged with four counts of attempted murder. He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail with a bond of $1 million.
Deputies were investigating a theft and had several individuals detained at the Valley Brook apartment complex on Gallant Drive. Shots were then fired at a distance. The rounds impacted a patrol vehicle, shattering a window. No one was injured.
The shooter then fled.
With the help of ATF agents and the Metro Area Crime Center, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were able to identify and locate the suspect, Quinn. He was arrested without incident on Wednesday afternoon.
