TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville High School and Trussville’s Alternative Learning Center (ALC) were on a code orange lockdown Wednesday, after authorities received information about a potential threat, on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019.
Police Chief Eric Rush said a code orange means the perimeter of the school must be secured.
“There is no active threat, at this point,” said Rush early Tuesday. “This is a precautionary measure based on the threat the student made.”
The code orange was lifted at Hewitt-Trussville High School after authorities determined a teacher at the ALC was the person threatened. The code orange has since been lifted at the ALC.
Rush said a family member alerted authorities about the threat made by a 16-year-old female student. Police have located the teen.
