BIRMINGHAM — Clay-Chalkville extended its winning streak to four games on Friday after defeating Huffman, 24-6, in the Cougars’ final regular-season region contest of the 2019 campaign.
The Cougars conclude Class 6A, Region 6 play at 4-2. They sit in fourth place in the region just behind Gardendale. Overall, Clay-Chalkville is 7-2 on the season.
On the night, Marquarius White recorded two passing touchdowns while Khalib Johnson recorded the final Cougar touchdown of the game. Jaren Van Winkle would cap the Clay-Chalkville scoring in the third quarter as the Cougars dominated a Huffman team whose lone score came in the fourth quarter.
With region play concluded for Clay-Chalkville, the Cougars are slotted to travel to face Helena in the first round of the playoffs.
Clay-Chalkville has one game left in the regular season against Gadsden City.
