BIRMINGHAM — A Center Point man was one of three men arrested Friday morning following a brief police chase.
AL.com reported that Billy Williams III, 25, of Center Point, along with Charles Young, 25, of Fairfield, and Rodney Gildersleeve Jr., 24, of Birmingham, were discovered with three pounds of marijuana, 16 ounces of Promethazine syrup, five handguns and $10,340 in cash following a traffic stop in Fairfield, which become a chase.
The three were booked into the Jefferson County Jail early Friday morning.
Williams III is now charged with trafficking marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a pistol without a license. Prior to his arrest, Williams had outstanding warrants for unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, obstructing justice, carrying a pistol without a license and improper lane change.
He is being held without bond.
