BIRMINGHAM — The funeral for Kamille McKinney is scheduled for this Sunday at the New Beginning Christian Ministry in Birmingham.
A Celebration of Life will be held for McKinney at 1 p.m. on Sunday with visitation from noon till 1 p.m with a burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
The New Beginning Christian Ministry is located at 501 Mountain Drive. Elmwood Cemetery is located at 600 Martin Luther King Drive.
The public is welcome.
McKinney was last seen at a birthday party in the Tom Brown Housing community on Oct. 12. Birmingham Police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue, the FBI, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies and volunteers, had searched for McKinney for 10 days.
Her body was found in a dumpster within a landfill on Oct. 22.
Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr announced in a press conference on Thursday that 39-year-old Patrick Devone Stallworth and 29-year-old Derick Irisha Brown are charged with capital murder of a child under age 14. He said they are being held without bond.
Capital murder carries a possible death penalty.
