HUNTSVILLE — The Clay-Chalkville volleyball team fell in the opening round of the Class 6A North Super Regional in Huntsville on Friday to Oxford in three sets (25-14, 25-13, 25-19).
Oxford advances to face either Homewood or Athens in the quarterfinals set to be played at 3:30 on Friday.
The Cougars advanced to the Super Regionals after cruising past Pell City in three straight sets (26-24, 25-19, 25-18) to claim their sixth straight Class 6A, Area 12 championship this past Tuesday.
The loss capped a three-game losing streak to Oxford this season. Clay-Chalkville was not able win a single set in either of those contests.
