From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — The city of Trussville has hired a consulting firm to handle some property appraisals and acquisitions, as part of downtown redevelopment.
Mayor Buddy Choat said 42 properties are needed for right-of-way acquisitions along loop roads. Those roads include Glenn Avenue, Will Street, Talley Street, Birdie Street and Vann Circle, according to City Clerk Lynn Porter.
The city council approved a resolution to allow the mayor to enter into a contract with Tillman Consulting LLC, in relation to the acquisitions. The company will handle all appraisals, negotiations and all services with project engineers, attorneys and city personnel.
The purpose of the project is to divert traffic off major thoroughfares throughout Quadrants two and three.
