TRUSSVILLE — The annual Maple Leaf Run is set for this Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, in downtown Trussville with a new addition for event goers: the Doggie Dash.
The annual race is a family and dog friendly event that is open to runners, walkers and “furry friends.” During the race, there will be music, vendors and fun for the kids. The first 300 race registrants will receive a free T-shirt.
Dogs need to be kept on a leash. There will be doggy bags available.
Awards will be given to the top three female and male finishers in the 5k. The top three finishers in the Doggie Dash will receive awards, as well.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Chamber’s Scholarship Fund, Turn Trussville Pink and Trussville Dog Parks Auxiliary/Cahaba Dog Park.
Schedule of events
6:30 a.m. – Registration opens
7:45 a.m. – Registration closes
8 a.m. – 5k/Doggie Dash starts
9 a.m. – Dog costume contest (for those interested in the costume contest, registration is free. You can sign your dog up at Trussville Dog Parks Auxiliary/Cahaba Dog Park Tent located on the Mall).
