LINEVILLE — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced two arrests made in connection to a shooting death that happened on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019.
Julius Dontavious Odem and Wayne Ashton Dunkley were both taken into custody the next day.
Investigators said Randell Ladarious Brown was taken to Clay County Hospital after being shot at Blakes Ferry Apartments in Lineville Friday night. He later died from his injuries.
Witnesses told authorities the suspect fled the scene in a black Dodge Charger. After a multi-agency investigation including the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Lineville Police and Ashland Police, detectives were able to identify the suspects.
Dunkley is accused of driving the Dodge Charger from the scene. He was arrested in Ashland and charged with hindering prosecution.
Odem was arrested in Sylacauga and is charged with murder, according to a press release from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
Both suspects are being held in the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
