TRUSSVILLE – Trussville Gas and Water is adding three community fountains throughout the city, in order to keep residents hydrated.
Three blue fountains will be installed near the Senior Center, at the Veterans Memorial at Civitan Park and near the playground behind the Trussville Public Library. The fountains are equipped with a drinking fountain and a water bottle refill station. The fountains at the Senior Center and at Civitan Park will also have water bowls for dogs.
Trussville Gas and Water already has fountains at the mall in Trussville and at the softball complex.
General Manager of Trussville Gas and Water, Mike Strength, said the fountains are an investment in the city and its residents.
“One of the things that really connects the community is they get out and walk, they run, they ride a bike in the area,” said Strength. “This connects the community in a way you can’t get by simply driving past in a car. We hope these fountains will further build that sense of community.”
Trussville Gas and Water is also asking for suggestions of areas in need of water fountains.
Strength made the announcement during the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 17. The luncheon was sponsored by Trussville Gas and Water.
During the event, Strength also announced that Trussville Gas and Water is now offering e-billing and payments. Customers will be able to pay bills online, by phone and even by texts.
