BALTIMORE — United States Congressman Elijah Cummings died early Thursday morning at Johns Hopkins Hospital, according to a statement released by his office. The statement said the Democrat congressman died due to “complications concerning longstanding health challenges.”
Cummings, 68, served for 23 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and was chairman of House Oversight and Reform Committee.
