TRUSSVILLE — A Center Point man is facing drug charges after Trussville Police arrested him on Main Street in Trussville.
Paxton L. Andrews, 21, is facing second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
Andrews was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, after an officer said he smelled marijuana while patrolling on North Chalkville Road. The officer was driving behind a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, around 7 p.m., when the driver turned right on Main Street, without using a turn signal, according to the police report. The officer made a traffic stop and said he smelled marijuana while asking the driver and the passenger for identification.
Officers said the passenger of the vehicle, Andrews, had a bag containing paraphernalia and they said he was hiding marijuana in his underwear.
Andrews took responsibility for all items found in the bag and the truck. According to a police report, those items included three bags of marijuana, marijuana grinders and other paraphernalia.
The driver was allowed to leave but Andrews was taken to the Trussville City Jail.
