CLAY — Week eight has come and gone and both Clay-Chalkville and Pinson Valley earned easy wins on the week, while Hewitt-Trussville, Center Point and Springville all suffered losses. The Huskies lost on a last-second Hail Mary two-point conversion, the Eagles failed to take flight against Sylacauga and the Tigers fell to Moody.

As always, choosing this week’s MVP of the week has been difficult, but a winner must be chosen regardless. So without further ado, week six’s OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports Player of the week goes to: Clay-Chalkville’s Damione Ward.
Ward completed 11-of-14 passes for 217 yards for three touchdowns. He also recorded a rushing touchdown in the Cougar’s 49-0 victory over Pell City.
