Jimima “Cricket” Douglass Finch Mosakowski, 95, reached the peaceful arms of our God on Oct. 6, 2019, in Pinson, Alabama. Jimima was born on March 2, 1924, in Vernon, Alabama.
Jimima and Leon Mosakowski were married on June 2, 1945, in Anniston, Alabama. Jimima retired from EMC Insurance, having worked as a file clerk for 21 years.
Jimima loved her Lord and her churches. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where she enjoyed the Sunshine Club. Prior to joining Ridgecrest, for over 50 years she was a member of Ruhama Baptist Church, with several of her Sunday School class members becoming lifelong friends. Jimima worshipped at Fellowship Baptist Church and was baptized in Yellow Creek.
Jimima was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Daisy (Taylor) Finch, her husband of 48 years, Leon Mosakowski, her sisters and brothers–in-law, Vivian and Rex Franks, and Charlene and Raymond Woods, brother-in-law, Johnnie Franks and several nephews.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Debbie Mosakowski, daughter and son-in-law, Mary and John Draemer, grandchildren, Shannon Blackwell (Daniel), Jason Mosakowski (Jane), Crystal Chabannes (Clayton) and Danielle Vercher (Heath), great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Hall, Adalyn Chabannes and Declan Chabannes, sister, Karen “Marzell” Franks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimima deeply loved her family and friends. We are grateful for the wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend she was. Her precious memory will always be a blessing.
During her life, many special people blessed Jimima with acts of love, friendship, kindness and caring. Thanks, love and hugs to each of you.
