OAKVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville, Pinson Valley and Springville High School joined nearly 4,500 runners from across the country on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2019, to compete in the Jesse Owens Classic at Oakville Indian Mounds Park in Oakville, Alabama.
Hewitt-Trussville
The Hewitt-Trussville boys competed in the Gold Division and placed 10th out of 30 teams in the division.
For the Hewitt-Trussville boys, Nathan Knox led the group with a 29th place finish with a time of 16:38.23, Alex Jones followed with a 79th place finish with a time of 17:27.54, Mac Brooks finished in 83rd with a time of 17:29.43, Mitchell Phillips finished in 90th with a time of 17:35.01, Kent Glover finished 99th with a time of 17:40.36, Wil Edwards finished 113rd with a time of 17:50.49, and Sam Ronsisvalle finished 186th with a time of 19:35.47.
The Hewitt-Trussville girls also competed in the Gold Division and placed 21st overall.
For the Hewitt-Trussville girls, Maci Mills finished in 43rd place with a time of 20:11.44, Olivia Browning finished 96th with a time of 21:23.37, Sophia Knox finished in 111th with a time of 21:42.49, Ellie Kate Jones finished in 142nd with a time of 22:37.10, Sophie Bryant finished in 171st with a time of 23:36.15, and Sarah Cannon finished 183rd with a time of 24:22.13.
Springville
Springville competed in the Bronze Division.
As for the Springville boys, Peyton Young finished in 44th with a time of 17:47.46, Jake Harned finished 110th with a time of 18:50.15, Benjamin Chapman finished 179th with a time of 19:46.81, Jackson Williams finished 229th with 20:17.72, Caleb King finished 267th with a time of 20:42.64, Michael Storie finished 297th with a time of 21:00.93, Houston Colley finished 346th with a time of 21:52.83, Garreth Guevara finished 462nd with a time of 24:16.54, and Ashton Hutchinson finished 473rd with a time of 24:41.05.
For the girls, Beth Ann Tucker finished 10th with a time of 20:45.30, Sadie Deason finished 91st with a time of 23:49.02, Sarah McGinnis finished 119th with a time of 24:33.78, Lauren Isley finished 140th with a time of 25:14.38, Georgia Self finished 226th with a time of 28:03.33.
Pinson Valley
For the Pinson Valley boys, Seth Lord finished 65th in the Gold Division with a time of 17:16.66, Carlos Del Toro placed 152nd with a time of 18:56.50, Luis A. Sanchez finished 181st with a time of 19:20.37, Hunter Siddle finished 211th with a time of 19:47.97, Holden Snyder finished 243rd with a time of 20:31.50, Andrew Martin finished 284th with a time of 22:31.35, Darryl Shorts finished 291st with a time of 23:16.61, David Ontiveros finished 423rd with a time of 24:14.75, and J. Pablo Rodriquez finished 434th with a time of 24:34.12.
As for the Pinson Valley girls, Lillian Sivers finished 72nd in the Red Division with a time of 25:17.72.
