JEFFERSON COUNTY — A one-vehicle crash in Jefferson County is under investigation after deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office found one person dead at the scene, according to Capt. David Agee.
On Tuesday October 1, 2019 at 8:04 p.m., Jefferson County deputies were dispatched to investigate a traffic accident in the 5600 block of 5th Street North Lipscomb Al.
“When they arrived on the scene, deputies found a one car accident where the driver was deceased,” Agee said. “Deputies and other first responders worker to clear the scene.”
The preliminary investigations shows that the driver may have lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway eventually striking a tree and catching on fire.
The Coroner’s Office will make a positive identification of the driver. Sheriff’s deputies are continuing this investigation at this time.
