From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department called off a chase Monday after officials said it posed a danger to the public.
The chase started around 4:15 p.m. when an officer spotted the driver of a black BMW committing a misdemeanor traffic offense, according to Chief Eric Rush.
“The registered owner of the vehicle showed some outstanding, misdemeanor warrants,” said Rush. “There was a safety factor there, so we let them go.”
Detective Ben Short said the chase started in the 100 block of Main Street. The chase was called off on Interstate 59/20, near Tallapoosa Street.
No one was arrested and no injuries were reported.
