From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
PELL CITY — The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, along with Sheriff Billy J. Murray, partnered with J & R Lumber, Home Depot, Scott Johnson Construction, Ashville Spirit Club and Rick Dodd to help the St. Clair Children’s Advocacy Center (The Children’s Place) receive a new and improved playground area at their facility.
The mission of St. Clair Children’s Advocacy Center is to foster and enhance family development and function by coordinating services for children and families involved in child abuse. The center also facilitates cooperation among agencies, offers training for professionals, and provides education that will increase public awareness and prevent child abuse in the community.
The sheriff’s office also appreciated the time and effort put in towards the project by Deputy Phillip Barnard, Lieutenant Van Pelt and Chief McWaters.
