BIRMINGHAM — A 1-year-old girl was pronounced dead on Thursday morning after drowning in a bathtub in the Crestline area of Birmingham.
Birmingham first responders arrived at the home in the 4200 block of Warren Road off Montevallo Road on Wednesday evening. There, they found the toddler unresponsive. According to authorities, the girl managed to get in the bathtub while her parents filled the tub in preparation for a bath.
She was rushed to Children’s of Alabama. She was pronounced dead at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Birmingham Police Sgt. Johnny Williams said that the incident is being investigated as an accident and that there has been no official cause of death yet.
