FAIRFIELD — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is taking over law enforcement duties in Fairfield, beginning Friday, Sept. 27.
News outlets in Birmingham report Sheriff Mark Pettway will make a formal announcement in front of City Hall Friday.
The sheriff said he wants to help surrounding communities in any way possible.
