GARDENDALE — A crossing guard was taken to UAB Hospital with multiple injuries on Thursday morning after she was struck by a vehicle in Gardendale.
The accident happened at the entrance to Bragg Middle School. Per news reports, the woman was standing in the roadway when a vehicle struck her from behind.
The driver of the vehicle that struck her informed police that their view was obstructed by a dirty windshield.
There is no update on the condition of the woman, but her injuries are not expected to be life threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
