ADAMSVILLE — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man accidentally shot his roommate in Adamsville.
Deputies responded to the call at 11:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the 2800 block of Woodruff Mill Road.
A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and will be interviewed by investigators when he is stable.
Witnesses told deputies that the shooter heard a noise outside and armed himself with a pistol. He went outside to see what was going on but didn’t see anything. When he came back into the house, he mistook his roommate for a threat and fired a shot, according to investigators. The witnesses said the shooting was accidental.
