Clara Fay Benson, 88, of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019.
She was born in Sayre, Alabama, on June 13, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Opal Thompson, and the love of her life, her husband of 60 years, Walter K. Benson. She is survived by her children, Dava Benson Craft (Danny), Donna Benson Malone and Dana Benson Culberson (Steve); grandchildren, Jason Craft (Stephanie), Ryan Craft, Kristin Ray (Christopher), Tony Culberson (Jen), Josh Culberson (Brandy), Samantha Bryant (Jason) and B.J. Malone (Rachael); 15 great grandchildren.
She attended 1st Assembly of God in Sylacauga, Alabama. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel and the burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Alabama School for the Blind.
