Ellen Faye Hastings White, 91, of Center Point, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019.
She was born in Ardmore, Alabama on Feb. 22, 1928.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Otta Hastings and Martha Ferguson Hastings; her twin sister, Helen Hastings Bounds; and the love of her life, her husband of 70 years, James Toney. White. She is survived by her children, James Michael White (Stephanie) and Toni White Lawson (Fred); grandchildren, Moni White, Eric Lawson, and Ellie Green (Kevin); great-grandchildren, Stephanie Simmons, Brett Barron, Whitley Lawson, and Jaxon Gleen; great-great-grandchilren, Farrah Simmons and Raiyna Simmons; sisters, Aurelia Thaxton (Jim) and Sharon Hurst (Ralph).
Ellen worked for 30 years in the men’s department at Pizitz/McRae’s in Roebuck. She was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. A visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, from 11 a.m.to noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with a service to follow at noon. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
