Breast Cancer Awareness Month Events & Activities Supporting BCRFA
Full Moon Bar-B-Que’s Half Moon Cookies for a Cause: October – The iconic half moon cookie tins have gone pink, and $3 from every pink tin of cookies will be donated to BCRFA. Cahaba Brewing Goes Pink for BCRFA: Entire month of October – Stop by Cahaba Brewing Company anytime during the month of October and support BCRFA. CBC will have DD’s Cherry Hibiscus Sour specially brewed for the month with a percentage of proceeds benefitting BCRFA.
Ghost Train: Entire month of October – Stop by Ghost Train anytime during the month of October and support BCRFA. A percentage of sales of the Kaleidoscope Sour during the month will benefit the BCRFA.
The Cowfish’s TataTinis: Entire month of October – Be sure to dine at The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar during October and order at TataTini. The Cowfish is donating $2 from every specialty pink martini to BCRFA.
Pink Ribbon Project: Entire month of October – Fire Stations across the state will Go Pink! to support breast cancer research in Alabama throughout the month of October. More than a dozen stations across Alabama will be selling specially designed pink ribbon project T-shirts for $15 and $20. Proceeds from shirt sales will help the BCRFA provide seed dollars required to secure, national grants for breast cancer research at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB. Tameron Automotive BC Awareness Campaign: Entire month of October – Tameron Automotive Group will donate $100 in support of breast cancer research for every new car sold at Tameron Honda and Tameron Hyundai. Tameron donates over $25,000 each year through this October partnership.
Renasant Bank Fundraising Campaign: Entire month of October – Renasant branches statewide will hold fundraisers for the BCRFA, and accept donations from their account holders. Renasant Mortgage will also donate $50 for every mortgage closed in October with Renasant! Last year, this partnership raised over $29,000 for the BCRFA!
Texas Roadhouse in Pelham: Throughout the Month of October – Guest can donate money toward gift cards that will be given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama to support its events and activities.
ARC Realty Blue Goes Pink: Throughout the Month of October – ARC Realty will donate $25 to the BCRFA for each new property listing that happens in during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Proceeds will support breast cancer research in Alabama.
Calera Goes Pink! Month of October – Join the city of Calera as they Go Pink to support breast cancer research in Alabama. This city-wide event culminates with the Calera High School football game on Friday, Nov. 1, a golf tournament at Timberline on Sunday, Oct. 20. Revvin’ 4 Research Charity Motorcycle Ride: Sunday, Sept. 29 – Join Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson for the 11th Annual “Revvin’ 4 Research” Charity Ride. Registration begins at 12 p.m. at Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson in Pelham, with kickstands up at 2 p.m. The escorted ride will offer lunch, provided by The Yellow Rose, before departure and an after party with live music at the Yellow Rose. BCRFA’s Go Pink! T-shirt Sale: Tuesday, Oct. 1 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m & Friday, Oct. 4 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. North Pavilion, UAB – Short sleeve and long sleeve T-shirts for sale in the 2nd floor Atrium of the North Pavilion Building at UAB. Short sleeved shirts: $15; Long sleeved: $20. Proceeds go to fund research and save lives. BCRFA T-shirts may also be purchased online at BCRFA.org in the online store.
Bow-Up Against Breast Cancer: October 5-6 – Heritage Archery Club and the BCRFA have come together to bring you the 8th annual Bow-Up Against Breast Cancer 3-D Archery Tournament to raise money for breast cancer research. Visit Bow-Up.org for more information and to register.
Buffalo Wild Wings: October 7 – 20% of all sales, with the exception of alcohol, from the Gardendale and Tuscaloosa locations will go to the BCRFA.
Charity Shopping Event at The Summit: October 10 – Join us at J. McLaughlin from 12-5 p.m. and Kendra Scott from 5-7 p.m. at The Summit on Thursday, Oct. 10, for a charity shopping event, with a percentage benefitting BCRFA.
You are Beautiful Luncheon Benefiting BCRFA: October 11, The Harbert Center (2019 4th Ave. N, Birmingham) – Join J. Wigs, B. Prince, and Gretchen B Photography as they host the first ever You are Beautiful Luncheon. There will be a fashion show, live & silent auction, and a delicious lunch. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online.
11th Annual Pink Luncheon Benefiting BCRFA: October 18, MSE Building Co. (5500 Derby Drive, Birmingham) – This year’s luncheon theme is celebrating Crazy for a Cure Fiesta. Make a minimum donation of $25 to BCRFA; enjoy a buffet, fun and prizes. RSVP: 205.833.9010.
Charity Night at Rojo: October 29, Rojo Birmingham – 10% of proceeds from all food and drink orders from 5 p.m. to midnight will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama.
CrossFit Chelsea’s Fight Like a Girl: Saturday, Nov. 17 – Head out to CrossFit Chelsea to Fight Like a Girl, a two person, mixed-gender CrossFit team event raising funds and awareness for BCRFA.
