BIRMINGHAM — Detectives with the Birmingham Police Department are investigating a stabbing at a pediatrician’s office.
According to reports, a man entered Morgan Pediatrics around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019. Police said he stabbed the victim after an altercation.
The suspect fled the scene and was taken into custody a short distance from Morgan Pediatrics. The victim was taken to UAB Highlands for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.
The identities of the suspect and victim are being withheld at this time. Investigators believe the two have met prior to the incident.
The suspect will likely be charged with assault.
