TRUSSVILLE — Downtown Trussville is a little brighter this September after yellow bows were hung along Main Street. The yellow bows were placed on buildings and poles in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.
Miss Iron City Makenzie Ward, a Trussville resident, hung the bows. She is doing her part to raise awareness of her social impact initiative, Gold Rush.
The initiative is all about funding and bringing awareness to pediatric cancer and research. Her inspiration came from a childhood friend who battled cancer when they were both very young.
