BIRMINGHAM — The man killed in a motorcycle crash on Parkway East was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
According to Coroner Bill Yates, the crash happened at 7:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019. The driver of the motorcycle, Cedric Mandrell Sankey, 21, of Birmingham, was taken to UAB Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8:29 p.m.
Investigators believe Sankey was traveling into the intersection of Fourth Avenue South and Parkway East when another vehicle turned in front of him. The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the other vehicle.
